Social-Emotional Learning Support for Children and Families
Strong academic skills begin with strong social-emotional skills. I provide individualized coaching and support for children and families to help build emotional awareness, self-regulation, resilience, confidence, executive functioning, and positive relationships.
Drawing on my experience as an educator, SEL specialist, and author, I work with children and parents to develop practical strategies that can be used at home, in school, and in everyday life. I provide compassionate, research-based support that helps both children and parents.
Together, we create personalized plans that empower children to understand their feelings, develop social emotional skills, and thrive both academically and social-emotionally.
Coaching the Child
Every child deserves the tools to understand their feelings, build meaningful relationships, and navigate life's challenges with confidence. Through individualized social-emotional learning coaching, I help children develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, resilience, communication, and problem-solving skills that support success at home, in school, and beyond.
Play
Play is a child's natural language for learning. Through individualized, play-based coaching sessions, I help children build emotional awareness, self-regulation, resilience, and social skills while practicing strategies they can use confidently at home, in school, and in everyday life.
Games
Games provide a fun and engaging way for children to develop important social-emotional skills. Through carefully selected games, children practice taking turns, managing emotions, solving problems, communicating effectively, handling winning and losing, and building resilience. These playful experiences help children strengthen skills they can use confidently in everyday situations.
Parent Coaching and Family Support
Parents play a critical role in their child's social-emotional growth. Through individualized parent coaching, I help families better understand their child's unique strengths, challenges, and emotional needs while providing practical, research-based strategies that can be implemented at home. Together, we develop a personalized plan that creates consistency between home and school, strengthens parent-child relationships, and supports the development of emotional regulation, resilience, and lifelong social-emotional skills.
Real-Life Scenarios and Role Play
Through role-playing and guided practice, children have the opportunity to safely explore real-life situations such as making friends, solving conflicts, managing frustration, handling disappointment, and expressing their feelings. By practicing these skills in a supportive environment, children build confidence, strengthen emotional regulation, and develop strategies they can use successfully in everyday situations.
Books
Books provide powerful opportunities for children to explore emotions, relationships, and real-life challenges through the experiences of others. Using both social-emotional learning texts and children's literature, I help children identify feelings, build empathy, develop perspective-taking skills, and practice problem-solving. Through meaningful discussions and activities, children learn how to apply these important social-emotional skills to their own lives.
